Great ink, even if the price is high September 3, 2010 Stephen Lerch (Elkton, MD United States) Having tried some of the non-Canon ink packs, I have to say that the ink Canon provides is a better ink if you want to keep your photos for a while. If all you want is to print an occasional picture and don't care how long it lasts, the non-Canon ink is a better deal financially.
Comparing inks (Canon vs Non-Canon) on the same paper (Canon's Platinum Pro) you can see slight differences in color representation between the two ink types, in favor of Canon's ink.
I bought my MP990 printer for photograph printing, so I don't skimp or compromise on ink anymore. Canon is the way to go on these printers when you want a quality print.
Don't forget that if you want spare cartridges for all the cartridges in the MP990, you also need the Canon PGI-220 Ink Tank (Black) and the Canon 2950B001 CLI-221 Ink Tank (Gray) as this set only includes Magenta, Cyan, Yellow and the small Black cartridge (the first link here is for the big black cartridge color). This really is an expensive ink system.
Canon ink gives good results August 29, 2010 David K. Miller Expensive tanks but the print quality from a Canon iP3600 printer is excellent. I like printers with individual color tanks because you can replace one color at a time instead of throwing away unused ink in multi-color cartridges. I buy the Canon ink because I've had poor results from refilled or generic products. The iP3600 uses a larger, separate pigment black tank for text that does last a long time.
My order is not arrived for over a month August 18, 2010 One happy customer 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
I ordered the Canon ink cartridge from J&R Music and Computer World through Amazon site since mid July and never came. I received 2 backorder notifications. I haven't seen any emails again. I called the customer services. They told me will check on the vendor. I haven't heard anymore from them.
I still haven't gotten my order; my printer was sitting and waiting for the inks. I would of cancel my order if they haven't charged to my account before the merchandise is shipped. I would not recommend anyone to use this company.

I have tried using generic cartridges and have not had good results with my pictures. Am hopeful that using genuine Canon cartridges will improve my results.
